A finely detailed eighteenth-century mezzotint by John Raphael Smith (1751–1812) after a painting by William Redmore Bigg (1755–1828). The scene depicts a wealthy woman and her two daughters giving money to a poor cottager and young baby. They are accompanied by a young servant boy, who carries their parasol. Unsigned. On paper.

Signs of wear consistent with age, including discolouration and light foxing to the paper. Overall, the artwork is in good condition for its age.
