A fine 18th Century engraving by James Fittler after Teniers, showing bucolic life on a Dutch cottage farm. Men drink and play cards outside the cottage to the right while the sheep, cows and pigs roam free in a grassy paddock. The inscription below the image includes the title, publisher's details and date. Tenier's and Fittler's names are at the lower left and right edges of the image. On wove.
Condition
The print has discolouration and some abrasion to the surface in the central area of the sky. The engraving has been cropped with the original plate lines. There are losses and heavy dirtying to all edges and three small tears to the upper edge.
