A beautiful 18th-century engraving by French artist Jean-Jacques Le Veau. The print depicts a view near Mont-Ferrat: a rocky river gorge with a waterfall, an aqueduct in the middle distance, a round tower and buildings on the clifftop, and figures fishing and boating in the foreground. The scene has been copied from Claude-Joseph Vernet's (1714–1789) original painting. The inscription states that the original painting belonged to Mr Godefroy de Villetaneuse. Condition
The print exhibits signs of wear consistent with age. Light foxing/discolouration to the paper. There is a small tear to the lower edge (left-hand side). The frame has minor surface wear. Overall, the print presents in good condition.
