Atmospheric painter and draughtsman, born in Hexham, Northumberland. Graduated with honours from Edinburgh College of Art, 1992–6, gaining her master's in painting there, 1996–8. Awards included Scottish Gallery Prize for Drawing, Eastern General Hospital, 1996; Highly Commended, D M Hall Centenary Exhibition, and Andrew Grant Bequest Prize for Drawing, both 1997; and Scottish International Educational Trust Award, 1998.
