Description

A striking mixed media harbour scene by Jean Roll (1921-2015). Roll uses a palette knife to create an expressive, textured surface over a watercolour background. This is then overlaid with finer, more considered lines in gouache and marker pen to provide structure and detail. Signed and dated to the lower right. Well presented in a rustic wooden frame. On paper.

Condition

The artwork is in very good condition. Marks, scuffs and small losses to the frame leave it with a distressed finish.
