Description

A traditional 19th-century devotional copy of The Madonna of Divine Love (La Madonna del Divino Amore), originally painted by the High Renaissance master Raphael around 1516. The scene portrays the Virgin Mary holding the Christ Child, interacting with the young St. John the Baptist while St. Elizabeth looks on. The painting is beautifully presented in a gilt-effect frame with ornate corner ornaments. On canvas.

Condition

Signs of wear consistent with age. Fine craquelure observed throughout the composition. Minor surface marks and abrasions to the perimeter. Light surface discolouration throughout, including yellowing to the varnish layer. Inspection under UV light reveals some areas of previous overpainting. The frame has minor surface wear and scuffs. Small chips on all sides. Overall, the artwork is in good condition for its age.
