The larger study depicts a gentleman on horseback with a rifle. The smaller study illustrates 18th century aristocrats in a landscape and has a cropped label to the reverse which reads 'Moss Bros. M.B 469'.

Condition

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and very minor foxing.

The Covent Garden based tailors produced numerous booklets and pamphlets intended to be given away with the purchase of a new suit. Various titles include 'Correct Dress for Horse & Rider', 'Riding Clothes & Saddlery', 'Some Notes on the Chase', and 'A History of Hunting Costume'.
