A fine example of 19th Century landscape painting in oil. The artist shows two figures fishing on a steep slope down to a river with a packhorse bridge over it beneath tall trees. The artist has signed indistinctly to the lower right corner.
The painting has been presented in a in a fine, antique, gilt, empire style frame with scrolling acanthus leaf ornamentation and gadroon strapwork.
On canvas.The painting has some discoloration and heavy craquelure to the surface. The frame has had some restoration to the gadroons at the left edge and corners but is in otherwise good condition.
