Developed in the aftermath of the First World War, the juxtaposition and non sequitur of the Surrealist movement have been captured with great skill in this small but unforgettable collection of oils.
John Voss was a British surrealist artist, who worked primarily in oils on canvas. Elected to the Leicester Society of Artists in 1971, Voss developed his own signature style of surrealism, with a flair for compositional form. He sadly passed away in 2021.
Combining elements of 20th Century surrealist movements with strikingly accomplished trompe-l'oeil, Voss has created innovative and fascinating visual moments, with a particular homage to the works of Italian artist Giorgio de Chirico.
