Jeaurat after Le Brun - 1728 Engraving Meeting between Louis XIV and Phillip IV

Description

A finely detailed engraving by Edmé Jeaurat (1688-1738) after a tapestry by Charles Le Brun (1619-1690) depicting the Treaty of the Pyrenees. Signed by Louis XIV of France and Philip IV of Spain in 1659, the treaty brought an end to the Franco-Spanish War. As part of the negotiations, Princess Maria Theresa of Spain married Louis XIV. Inscribed with the artists' names within the plate. On paper.

Condition

The condition is typical for a picture of this age, including some discolouration, dirtying, and foxing to the paper. Some small tears around the edges.
