An original late 19th century watercolours by Georges Gassies (1829-1919), depicting a woodland scene with cottage hut, figures, and a man chopping down a dead tree by the river. The painting is signed to the lower left corner. Entitled verso with label. Well presented in an ornate swept rail frame with floral corner and centre ornament. Mounted on white card, under glazing. On paper.
Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and light foxing. Signs of wear and tear to the gilt frame to include, small moulding losses on the top corner ornament and left-hand swept rail.
