This delightful farming scene captures an elderly lady feeding a large paddle of white ducks by a pond. The watercolour has been indistinctly signed to the lower left. Smartly mounted in a narrow wood frame. On watercolour paper.

Condition

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration, particularly along the top edge of the painting.

Artist Biography

Painter and etcher, born in Preston, Lancashire. He studied at the St. John's Wood School of Art and RA Schools and is best known for his marine sketches especially as in his youth he was a merchant marine cadet. He exhibited many works at Walker's Gallery, London, and at the RA, RWA and RI. Examples of his work are in the collections of Guernsey Museum and Art Gallery, IWM, Poole Museum Service, National Maritime Museum, National Army Museum and Russell-Cotes Art Gallery & Museum and He was elected an Associate of the RWA.
