A painting after Claude Lorrain's (c.1600-1682) 'The Embarkation of the Queen of Sheba' (1648) that hangs in the National Gallery, London. It depicts the departure of the Queen of Sheba to visit King Solomon in Jerusalem, described in the tenth chapter of the First Book of Kings. Presented in a gilt-effect wooden frame with ornate pierced moulding to the outer edge. Signed and dated to the lower-right edge. On board.Condition
There is some minor surface dirt and discolouration to the varnish.
