Inspection under UV light reveals no restoration. There is surface dirt and very minor surface marks. Minor scuffs to the frame.

Harry Bennett was born 5 November 1879 in Grimsby, Lincolnshire. His father was Solomon Bennett, an immigrant from Lithuania who was given the name Bennett on arrival in England. He was a director of the well known Grimsby business, Bennett and Jennison. Many of the subjects for his oils are local scenes and beauty spots in the north Lincolnshire area around Grimsby. Newspaper articles show he exhibited in Hull in the 1930’s. He died in Grimsby in 1955 aged 75. Many of Bennett's paintings are signed in capital letters, ‘H BENNETT’.
