François Bossaerts (1879-1960) was a self-taught Belgian painter and etcher, born in Schaerbeek, Brussels. He worked as a teacher and later became the director of Municipal School No. 9 on Avenue Dailly in Schaerbeek. The school had been founded in 1876 by his father, François Martin Bossaerts (1839-1914), who is commemorated with a street named after him in the town.
