A wonderful 19th century watercolour depicting a vast, panoramic view of the Scottish highlands. With a small figure in a red kilt and long fishing rod, this gentleman can be seen wearing a fine blue coat and flat cap with feather.
This fine Scottish watercolour draws inspiration from the great Romantic painters of the period, with dramatic mountain ranges and appreciation of the raw power of nature. Wonderfully presented in a cream card mount with gilt detail and gilt frame. A very faint signature is just visible to the lower left, possibly reading 'D****d 24'.
On wove.The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and foxing. Overall the condition is very good.
