Description
A dynamic industrial scene by French artist Fernand Lienaux (1897-1980), depicting the early morning shift change at the Sainte Marie coal mine. The composition shows a team of workers in hard hats and overalls preparing for a day's hard labour. The painting is well presented in a gilt-effect frame with white slip and is signed to the lower right, with additional inscription and artist signature verso. On canvas on stretchers.Condition
A light, even patina of age is present across the surface of the artwork. Inspection under UV light reveals no apparent restoration. The frame has minor surface wear, including small marks to the white slip. Overall, the artwork presents in very good condition.
