Description

This fine watercolour, attributed to Henry Earp Senior (1831-1914), depicts a pastoral landscape with Elgin's cathedral standing in ruins. In the foreground three women pause and point to two cattle farmers who can be seen bring their cattle to water in the river. The watercolour has been beautifully presented in a period gilt frame with ornate ivy leaf mouldings. Unsigned.
On watercolour paper.

Condition

The watercolour is evenly discoloured. The decorative gilt frame is in a good condition with minimal losses to the inner window and ivy mouldings.
