Description

A striking 18th century engraving depicting a view of the House of Lords, or Peers, in 1755 during the reign of George II, by the engraver Benjamin Cole (1697-1783). At this time, the House of Lords was located in the old Palace of Westminster. King George II can be seen seated in his throne at the far end of the room. Well presented in a black reeded lacquer frame. Signed in the plate to the lower right. On paper.

Condition

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration to the paper. Some light scuffs and chips to the black frame.
