This delightful 18th-century oil depicts a small section after Rubens' 'Coronation of the Virgin', where cherubs gaze upward in reverence toward the Virgin Mother. The original is housed in the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium. Unsigned, the work is beautifully presented in an elegant gilt frame. On canvas on stretchers.Condition
Signs of wear consistent with age. Fine craquelure and light abrasions throughout. Light discolouration to the surface. The artwork has undergone previous restoration, including relining and small areas of overpainting visible under UV light. Overall, the artwork is in very good condition for its age.
