A fine nineteenth-century copy of Bartolome Esteban Murillo's Children Eating Grapes and a Melon, kept in the Alte Pinakothek in Munich. Although Murillo is best known for his religious paintings, here he turns his attention to the poverty he saw in his home city of Seville. Despite the boys' evident poverty, the scene is one of delight and childhood innocence. Unsigned. On canvas on stretchers.
