Description
An elderly lady stands at a dressing table in this charming early twentieth-century genre scene. A pincushion, candlestick, mirror, and jug of flowers adorn the table, while a miniature portrait hangs on the wall below a full bookshelf. The work is signed to the lower left, and is well presented in an ornate gilt frame. On canvas.Condition
Signs of wear consistent with age, including discolouration and craquelure. Two canvas tear repairs and areas of overpainting. Scuffs, stable cracking, and losses to the frame. Parts of the frame's running patterns have been restored. Overall, the artwork is in good condition for its age.
