An accomplished 19th century copy of a tronie-style portrait of a young man, once thought to be one of more than 40 self-portraits by Rembrandt. The Rembrandt Research Project and other scholars now question the attribution, suggesting it may not be by Rembrandt, but possibly an unfinished work later completed by another artist. Unsigned. Well presented in a gilt frame. On copper.
