The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. There is a line of glue at the bottom edge from previous framing.

William White Warren, was born at Kensington, London around 1829. He married Euphemia Mary Gibbons (1828-27 February 1902). A nineteenth-century landscape painter known predominantly for his small sketch-like landscape paintings and in November 1869 he had an exhibition of some 300 works of ‘Original Sketches recently taken in Rome, Naples, Venice, Sardinia, Corsica, together with previous tours by W. W. Warren’ at the German Gallery, 168 New Bond Street, London. He exhibited seven paintings at the British Institution and in January 1886, Christie’s held a four-day sale of the collections of ‘W. W. Warren Esq. of 21 Suffolk Street, Pall Mall. In 1887 he exhibited at the Bury St Edmund's Fine Art Club, a watercolour 'Bye-Way at Horringer', although the Club was for local artists, but any residency in the area has not yet been discovered. In 1891, Warren and his wife were living at Fulham Road, Fulham, London together with his unmarried sister Mary. His wife died at Fulham on 27 February 1902 and William White Warren died at Hackney, London in 1911.
