Signed. On board. There are some pen marks visible in the sky area, otherwise in fine condition.William Norman Gaunt (1918-2001) Born in Leeds, he studies under Walter Bayes at Lancaster College of Art. His early work showed the influence of Ivor Hitchins. Gaunt later went on to specialise in equestrian subjects displaying an impressionistic style. He gained a National Diploma 1949 and was made a fellow of the International Institute of Arts and Letters 1959.
