Description

A vibrant 19th-century Chinese gouache on pith paper, depicting the master of the house being waited on by his servants. The colours are exceptionally vivid, and the scene is rendered with meticulous detail. Unsigned. Well presented in a bamboo frame. Listed with a companion piece 'Tea for the Lady' (SV956). On pith paper.

Condition

Light discolouration to the paper and losses to the corners. Overall the artwork is in good condition for its age. The frame is in fine condition.
