A small Victorian sketchbook filled with approx. 40 graphite and watercolour sketches, many of which are dated from 1884 to 1888 and inscribed with the locations. Sketches include Ludlow Castle, Canterbury Castle, St. Alban's and Hastings.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration to the pages and loosening to the spine of the book. There is foxing on the pages.

Collection Information
The Gill family collection comprises fine watercolour and graphite works from multiple generations of an artistic English family, beginning in the late 19th Century and spanning an artistic period of great interest. Members include Robert Gill, his wife Mary, as well as Dolly Gill and others.
Subjects include the English landscape, architectural and tree studies, with Canterbury, Kent, Devon and the Isle of Wight depicted, amongst other locations in the British Isles. Many works have been dated and inscribed with further information.
