Description

A finely detailed engraving depicting the Moutier Gorge in Switzerland, engraved by Texier after drawings by Alexis Nicolas Perignon (1726-1782). The print is from Tableaux de la Suisse ou Voyage Pittoresque fait dans les treize Cantons et états alliés du Corps Helvetique, a collection of picturesque views of Switzerland by Beat Fidel Zurlauben (1720-1799). The print bears the inscription "A.D.P.R." (avec privilege du roi), slightly obscured by the frame, indicating that the print was licenced by the king. Presented in an elegant scalloped frame. On paper.

Condition

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and foxing. Minor wear to the frame.
