A fine nineteenth or late eighteenth century Spanish School oil depicting the Virgin Mary with Jesus Christ as a child, highlighted with brilliant gold details. There are several Marian symbols in the work, including the stylised 'M' on the cloak to the left, and the roses at the upper corners.

Condition
Signs of wear consistent with age including discolouration and surface dirt. Wear around the edges of the canvas and board. Losses to the canvas to the righthand edge and lower right corner. Abrasions to eh surface along the lower margin and to the upper left.
