Description
A meticulously detailed battle scene in watercolour by English artist Samuel Rayner (1806–1879). In a blur of shining armour, clashing swords, and rearing horses, two armies fight on a castle bridge. The castle looms imposingly over the scene whilst the river gushes below. Monogrammed and dated to the lower right. Well presented in a gilt frame with a washline mount. On paper.Condition
Some slight discolouration to the paper and light wear to the frame; however, the artwork is in very good condition for its age overall.
