Description
This summer feeling, oil landscape depicts a group of spritely children playing in the park. The families dogs can be seen running circles around the excitable children, while the two mothers seem happy chatting to one side. The painting is signed to the reverse. Well presented in a complimenting gilt-effect frame.On canvas on stretchers.
Condition
There is one small chip to the lower member of the frame. Otherwise in very good condition.

Artist Biography
Remembered a painter and highly-regarded teacher of the 20th century.
The great-grandson of Charles Darwin, Robin was born in London in 1910. His parents were the writer Bernard Darwin and engraver Elinor Monsell. After attending Eton College and Cambridge University, Darwin enrolled in the Slade School of Fine Art.
After World War II service Darwin worked from 1945-46 at the Council of Industrial Design, and between 1948 to 1971 he worked as the appointed principal of the Royal College of Art, which gained the independent university status under his direction. After a long career, Robin Darwin was knighted in 1964 and died ten years later.
