An intimate genre painting by German artist Robert Frank-Krauss (1893-1950), depicting an elderly woman seated at her spinning wheel, absorbed in her work beneath a small devotional portrait. The painting is well presented in an ornate gilt frame with elaborate rococo scrollwork and palmette motifs. Signed upper left. On canvas.
Condition
Fine craquelure is observed throughout the paint surface. Inspection under UV light reveals no apparent restoration. The frame has very minor surface wear. Overall, the artwork presents in very good condition.
