Description
This charming early 19th century portrait depicts a seated child with a bowl of fresh milk and a purring kitten by his side. Eager for a taste, the young cat can be seen glaring at the child's raised spoon in a moment of complete concentration. Unsigned. The oil has been well presented in a period gilt frame. On wood panel.Condition
A knot in the wood panel has caused a linear mark in the top left corner of the painting. Signs of wear to the gilt frame include stable cracking and historic losses on all sides. The painting has undergone a surface clean at some point. There is some craquelure to the surface.
