Description

A view of a cavalier or musketeer sat on the wall of a terrace and looking out towards a town square by Pierre Gustave Taverne (b.1861) after Jean-Louis-Ernest Meissonier (1815-1891). There is a remarque at the centre of the lower edge. Original artist's monogram in plate and signed indistinctly by the engraver in graphite to the lower-right edge. The date and publication information are inscribed in plate at the upper edge. On vellum.

Condition

There is foxing, primarily to the lower margin.
