Description
A very fine late 19th century miniature watercolour portrait of a wealthy older lady. The sitter's red rosy lips jump out from her pale complexion. Volumes of bright white hair are controlled under a large white bonnet with blue ribbon. Well presented in a papier-mache frame with oval window. With original rose and acorn brass hanger and glazed dome. On a bone like substrate .Condition
The condition is typical for a miniature of this age. The brass details have a tarnished look. The original glazed dome has a clouded outer edge, just visible. To the reverse, the backing paper is torn around the window opening.
