Description

This intricate 19th-century armorial watercolour has been completed using fine brushwork swathes of gold paint. The motto at the bottom reads 'Moveo Et Profiteor' or 'I move and I declare'. Unsigned. Inscribed '1854 Baxter' verso. Well presented behind glass in a substantial wooden frame with a gilt slip. On paper.

Condition

The condition is typical for a picture of this age, including some discolouration and foxing. Light debris behind the glass. Wear to the frame, including scuffs, chips and indentations throughout.
