The painting is unsigned on canvas laid over stretchers. There is a framer's stamp at the reverse from St Ives.
On canvas.The painting has heavy discolouration and some craquelure across the surface. There is an area of heavy bitumen deterioration running down the left hand stretcher. There are several repairs to the canvas, fully restored both front and back, the largest being at the lower left corner. There is general wear to the outer edges of the canvas, typical for its age.
