Description

A highly accomplished and confident watercolour of considerable size. The painting shows a man (possibly Scottish judging by his attire) fishing by a river in a sun dappled wood. The painting shows the artist's skill with a restrained and mature colour palette picked out by delicate white gouache body work. The painting has been signed in the lower right hand corner. This is one of Earp's larger watercolour works and is impressively presented in an off white card mount and a simple wooden frame in a green that perfectly compliments the painting's palette. The painting comes with a note stating the last address of the artist and a brief history of his family.

Signed. On watercolour paper.

Condition

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration but has still held its colour wonderfully. The frame is in fine condition. with only a few minor chips to the frames outer edges.
