Description
This impressionistic garden study depicts a narrow path flanked by lush borders of flowering perennials, leading towards a tall topiary bush with a yew hedge behind. The composition draws the viewer's eye along the central pathway through dappled layers of green vegetation, punctuated by vibrant red and pink blooms in this beautiful English garden. The work is well presented in a gilt-effect frame with a white window mount. Signed 'Swanwick' verso. On canvas laid to board.Condition
Signs of wear consistent with age. Fine craquelure observed throughout the foliage. A light, even patina of age is present across the surface of the artwork. Inspection under UV light reveals no apparent restoration. The frame has minor surface wear. Overall, the artwork is in very good condition for its age.
