This charming rural scene depicts an inhabited thatched
cottage, situated next to a large natural pond. The painting is indistinctly signed to the lower right. Well presented in a substantial silver gilt frame with delicate floral details.
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration caused by a buildup of nicotine and surface dirt. There are several small marks to the canvas in the lower right quadrant and the canvas has also been relined at some point. The picture frame is in fine condition.
