Description

A scene on the River Derwent near Matlock in Derbyshire. Presented in a wash line mount and a gilt-effect wooden frame. Signed and dated to the lower-left edge. There is a label on the verso inscribed with the location. On watercolour paper.

Condition

There is some foxing and discolouration, primarily to the sky. The unpainted edge of the substrate is slightly visible at the lower-left edge as the painting has shifted in the frame. There are some small chips and dents to the frame.
