Description

A well-detailed original mid 19th Century graphite drawing with touches of body color, depicting a town or village street scene beside a church. The architectural forms in the composition contrast and add scale to the figures, with a horse rider and figures in dress typical for the period. Well-presented in a lined double card mount and distressed silver gilt wooden frame, as shown. Unsigned. On wove.

Condition

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and foxing, mainly to the upper half. There is a crease to the lower left, and a small closed tear at the right edge. THe frame is in very good condition, with a distressed silver gilt finish.
