A charming Dutch Golden Age-inspired landscape depicting a distinctive round tower and thatched cottage nestled amongst verdant foliage, with figures travelling along a country path. The composition employs a warm, earthy palette contrasting with an expansive blue sky, drawing the eye towards a distant town on the horizon. Presented in a gilt-effect frame, the work is illegibly initialled to the lower left and dated 1891. On panel.
Condition
Signs of wear consistent with age. Minor surface marks and abrasions throughout. Light surface discolouration including yellowing to the varnish layer. Inspection under UV light reveals minor areas of previous restoration. The frame has light surface wear, including small chips and scratch marks. Overall, the artwork is in good condition for its age.
