A very fine watercolour portrait of a young woman. The sitter wears a simple black dress with lace details and large brooch. Her hair is styled in fashionable ringlets of the period. Inscribed with the date April 24th 1844 to the reverse of the watercolour. Well presented in a contemporary black frame with double card mount. On watercolour paper.
