Description

A stunning 19th century folk art study depicting a wild hare, alert in long grass. The piece is beautifully presented in a distressed gilt-effect frame with an original label and inscription on the reverse. Though unsigned, this charming work was acquired alongside its companion piece 'The Rabbit' (SX092). On panel.

Condition

The artwork is in particularly fine condition for its age. There is some craquelure to the surface of the painting. Light wear to the frame.
