Very minor foxing to the sky and areas of discolouration. The lower left of the frame has undergone some restoration (please see photos). The mount has been overpainted with gold paint and a very small amount has been transferred onto the lower right of the painting.

Edward Parrini was born in 1850 near Constantinople of Italian parentage. Parrini was orphaned as a young child and was subsequently cared for by extended family until he left for Naples University. Parrini moved to London in 1885 as an apprentice artist for the murals in Brompton Oratory in Kensington. He married and remained in London until his death in 1914. He is best known for his watercolours.
