The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and foxing. Minor scuffs to the frame.

Artist Biography
Max Ludby (1858-1943) was a painter born in London. He studied in Antwerp between 1882 and 1884. However, he was an active exhibitor from as early as 1879, showing at the Royal Academy, Royal Institute of Oil Painters, Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours, Grosvenor Gallery, London Salon, and Royal Society of British Artists. He was elected a member of the Royal Society of British Artists in 1886 and in 1891 he was elected a member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours.
