A fine classical stipple engraving, depicting Orpheus and Eurydice in the forest, with Orpheus playing his lyre. The peaceful scene is set before Eurydice is bitten by a snake and sent to the underworld, where Orpheus attempts to retrieve her from. Well-presented in a washline mount with gilt detail, as shown.
