This delightful early 19th-century portrait depicts a soft-faced lady, elegantly attired in a frilled lace bonnet and silk orange jacket, attire typical of the late Georgian period. Rendered with soft, accomplished brushwork, the portrait exudes character. Unsigned. Well presented in a decorative gilt frame. Listed alongside two other portraits depicting members of the same family. (SZ075 and SZ076) On panel.
Condition
Fine craquelure observed throughout. Minor surface marks and abrasions. Inspection under UV light reveals minor areas of previous restoration to the upper margin. Light wear to the frame. Overall, the artwork is in very good condition for its age.
