Artist Biography
David John Douglas Koster (1926-2014) was a painter and printmaker born in Islington, London. He studied at the Slade School of Art, 1944-1947 and later taught drawing and printmaking at Medway College of Design. He was a founder member of the Society of Wildlife Artists in 1964 and held numerous one-man shows, including a retrospective exhibition that coincided with the launch of a major book about his work. He received several commissions including work for the RSPB and a front cover for their 'Birds' Magazine. His recent commissions included the purchase of works for the refurbishment of the Saga Rose cruise ship. His death was recorded in Inverness, Scotland.
